Timeless Summer Workwear Outfits

Although I do not hold a traditional job anymore, once upon a time I used to. Now, my office is anywhere I want it to be. I am so incredibly lucky that I have the opportunity to answer emails from my living room or from a living room in a across the globe. But despite this, I do find myself thinking back to my old office job. One of my favorite aspects for a traditional 9-to-5 was the wardrobe that came with it. I have always been a blazer kind of girl and dressing up for the office provided enough reason for me to get out of bed. These ideas have been embedded in me for so long that I find myself gravitating towards more business casual ensembles. If you work in a more traditional setting, scroll ahead to discover my timeless summer workwear outfits that you can easy emulate.

Timeless Tweed

When in doubt, you can always look to the Parisians for style inspiration. French fashion always prioritizes classic pieces over anything more ephemeral and trendy, meaning you can add capsule pieces into your workwear wardrobe. One of my favorite Parisian items that are office appropriate are tweed jackets. This textured fabrication is endlessly chic and an amazing layering device that works with a variety of pieces. One of my favorite ways is popping one over a solid colored dress and calling it a day.

Linen Separates

Dressing up for work can be a daunting task, especially during this summer’s extreme heat wave. One of my favorite tricks for looking polished, while staying cool is relying on linen. This fabrication is lightweight and breathable, yet often takes the shape of more tailored silhouettes. From linen trench coats to linen trousers, there’s absolutely no shortage of easy breezy workwear separates for you to indulge in.

Summer Knit Dresses

Although you might associate sweaters with the fall and winter, there are actually really comfortable knit dress options that are ideal for combatting the warm weather. Plus, this stretchy material offers up a cozy alternative to more stiff pieces that could be a nuisance during the summer. In fact, if I was back in the office, I would take it upon myself to ensure I had a healthy stock of knit dresses I could keep on repeat. If you’re sold on the idea, get started by shopping my selects ahead.

All White

If your office fashion guidelines are quite strict and you do find yourself resorting to tailored pieces more than you would like, consider switching it up for the summer season. Black and navy will always be classic, but there is something undeniably refreshing about a white monochromatic look during the summertime. This holds especially true for more classic pieces such as a blazer and a matching pair of trousers. You can even dip your toes into something a little more non-traditional like a tailored vest or a blazer dress.
