These Fall Trends Are Going to Be Everywhere Soon

If you are anything like me, you consider yourself a planner or someone who likes to know what is coming. This holds especially true when it comes to fashion. Although we’re in the throes of a hot summer season, I cannot help but look to the future. The fashion world is the same way, too. Designers work seasons ahead of time, which is why we already have a good handle on what to expect this upcoming autumn. While I am still very much enjoying my summer dresses and skirts, I am also simultaneously looking ahead to start mentally prepping for the season ahead. And if you are reading this right now, chances are you, too, are a planner. So before we waste anymore of our precious time, let’s dive into the most anticipated 2023 fall trends.

Seeing Red

In terms of color, the one hue you definitely need to keep your eye on is red. While hot cherry iterations will be on fire, you can also expect an uptick in moodier maroons. From red hot tops to firey dresses, it’s up to you to decide how far you will take it. While it makes for an excellent pop of color against an autumnal color outfit, you can also make it the centerpiece of your look if you dare to turn heads wherever you go.

90’s Minimalism (Continued)

The first half of the year had a large focus on nostalgic trends and I expect this train to continue as we finish out 2023. Earlier this year, I highlighted the surge of 90’s minimalism and it turns out this will be one of the prevailing trends of the fall season. It will focus on the same key items including minimal tank tops, longline skirts, and sleek kitten heels, so get ready to channel your inner 90’s off-duty model.

Full Skirts

Maxi skirts were omnipresent. From full-length tiered skirts to floor-grazing denim skirts, these longline bottoms  were considered essentials these past few months. However, as we transition into cooler weather, expect these maxi skirts to get a little bit more voluminous. Instead of focusing on sleek, body-hugging silhouettes, I am expected to see a lot more full skirt shapes for a more glamorized rendition of this trend.

Statement Coats

Returning to the fall means having to layer up once again. Of course, a coat is one of the most important elements of seasonal layering. This year, throw caution to the wind. Eye-catching, unique outerwear is predicted to reign supreme. Everything from pop colors to textured fabrications will be a hit. After all, this is a virtually effortless way to create a killer autumnal outfit. Even a tee and a pair of jeans can be transformed with a statement coat layered on top.

Metallics Galore

2023 has proved that metallics can be worn year-round but there is no denying that these precious metals really shine during the fall and winter season. Whether you opt for silver, gold, or any color in between, know that you are truly making an entrance everywhere you go. I will never pass on an opportunity to wear metallics for a nighttime event or party. It’s universally flattering and always photographs well!
