Spring 2024 Trends from Paris Fashion Week

After a busy New York Fashion Week and a hectic Milan Fashion Week, I found myself in the City of Love for yet another round of runway shows. I am not sure if it’s because it takes place in the fashion capital of the world, but I am continually dazzled by every single collection presented in Paris. Although we just reached fall, spring is definitely on my mind after this past month and I’m already pining to exchange my fall coats for warm weather frocks. And if you are one to get ahead of the curve like me, then you definitely want to dial into all of the different shows and presentations that happened during this year’s Paris Fashion Week. After all, the early bird gets the worm and there’s no such thing as being too prepared for what’s ahead. Without further ado, here are the top Spring 2024 trends to keep on your radar.

Ready for Red

We already know that red is the unofficial color of Fall 2023, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it heavily represented throughout the various collections. In particular, Akris was standing for red in a big way. Not only was it used as a pop of color, but entire monochromatic red outfits were paraded down the runway. Even the venue itself was done up in a dazzling display of red poppies. So if there is one thing for sure, red will continue well into next year as one of the biggest of the spring 2024 trends.

Hot Pants

Is it getting hot in here or is it just me? Despite the Stella McCartney show being outside in the streets of Paris, there was some firey energy throughout! Hot pants AKA really short-shorts were seen again and again. Much of the Miu Miu looks were sans pants as well. These itty-bitty bottoms (or no bottoms at all) were paired with everything from dramatic button-ups to longline coats. Thus, be prepared for ultra-leggy outfits this spring.

Power Dressing

Throughout all of the Paris Fashion Week shows and presentations I managed to see, there’s one common theme – power dressing. While this isn’t one of those spring 2024 trends that are groundbreaking, it did still leave a lasting impression on me. If anything, it reiterates the idea that tailored blazers and high-waisted trousers aren’t just workwear. Power dressing goes far beyond the office and can be just about anywhere.

Oversized Bags

As for accessories, the Stella McCartney show emphasized the trend of oversized bags. Roomy and commanding handbags capable of carrying all your essentials and more will dominate the scene in the upcoming spring season. Whether it’s a spacious tote or an extravagant oversized clutch, these larger-than-life options will be in vogue.
