One of the easiest ways to transition to a new seasonal wardrobe is to switch up the colors that you are wearing. As we know, winter is naturally when we tend to pick more dark colors, so lightening things up with more cheerful hues will mentally and physically help us to switch gears for the warmer weather ahead. But what are the exact colors we should even paying attention to? I headed over to Pantone, the number 1 trend source for all things color in both fashion, home, and design to see what sort of tones we should be investing in now to ready our wardrobe before the spring season is officially upon us. The colors I chose to highlight below are a reflection of the playfulness and joy that goes hand-in-hand with the dopamine dressing trend, as well as some timeless neutrals that will make their mark throughout the entire year. The below are what I believe to be the Spring 2022 color trends to tap into now before it is too late!
Spring 2022 Color Trends to Tap into Now
Pantone Color of the Year: Very Peri
I would be remiss to not touch upon Pantone’s color of the year – Very Peri which falls in between the blue and purple spectrum. According to Pantone, the color represents the fusion between the physical and digital world post-pandemic and signifies a transformative time period. In terms of fashion, it is a really fun, energetic color to play with as it is a combination of both lavender and violet which makes it more unique. Go after full periwinkle outfits to make a stand for the Pantone of the year or shop accessories in this bright lilac to add a punchy pop of color.
Primary Blue
This is one of my favorite of the spring 2022 color trends! Primary blue is bright and eye-catching and we have already seen it crop up in both SS22 and FW22 so it is projected to stick around at least through the end of the year. This royal blue colorway will pair exceptionally well with the upcoming sunny days ahead and we are already seeing a lot of resort wear and summery dresses featuring this saturated blue. Just be cautious when pairing with red and white unless you are opting for a patriotic look!
Lime Green
Last year, we witnessed a large uptick in Kelly green which was definitely a rich Pantone that elevated any outfit it was incorporated with. This shade will definitely still play a part in terms of spring 2022 color trends but the shade I wanted to specifically highlight is lime green. This bright, almost neon colorway is an easy way to announce you have arrived! Like the aforementioned primary blue shade, lime green will be a delightful addition to your vacation looks and spring going-out outfits.
Powdery Pink
On the more demure side of the Spring 2022 color trends spectrum is powdery pink. This soft, pastel pink color reads more innocent than the previously mentioned colors, making it easy to incorporate into your already existing wardrobe. Powder pink is going to be represented within a lot of collections this season, so much so that is almost considered a neutral at this point. This light pink shade is a match made in heaven for more romantic pieces such as a puff sleeve top or a flowy dress.
Snow White
Obviously white is always a staple no matter what time of year but it is going to play a more significant part within the spring 2022 color trends. Many of the collections for this season were heavily focused on wedding-inspired white dresses, complete with lace adornments and long, sweeping skirts. However, snow white always manages to look clean and elevated no matter what silhouette it happens to be on. Shop some chic bright white pieces to add to your collection below!
