My Best Kept Beauty Secrets That Will Change Your Life

Bring Your Fragrance With You

If there is one thing to know about me, it is my unyielding obsession with perfumes. I love the idea of smelling good at all times so one of my favorite beauty secrets is keeping a backup perfume on me where ever I go. If the storage in my handbag allows, I might bring an entire bottle with me. If not, I highly recommend getting a travel sized version of your favorite scent to stash in your handbag!

Avoid Over-Exfoliating

Believe it or not, there is such a thing as too much exfoliation! Whether it be chemical or mechanical, it is best to keep your exfoliation process to a minimum, especially if you have sensitive skin. Hence, this beauty secret is to avoid over-exfoliating your face as this can irritate and cause your skin to breakout. Personally, I stick to exfoliating just once a week in order to resurface.

Always Use Waterproof Mascara

If you are not blessed with luscious lashes, you might incorporate mascara into your makeup routine. However, I find that many mascaras (both high-end and drugstore) fail to hold a curl for hours on end. If you, too, are struggling with this, then you must try a water-proof formula! 9 times out of 10, a waterproof option will hold your curl a lot longer than a traditional formula, allowing you to achieve the falsie look (no false lashes required).

Ice Your Face

Icing your face, aka cold therapy, is the next of my beauty secrets. While I do not incorporate it religiously into my daily routine, it does have tremendous merits. The coldness can help to minimize puffiness, calm breakouts, and boost your skin’s health. Coupled with an ice roller tool, your face will also benefits from the light massage. Amazon is a great place to scoop up a facial ice roller if you do not have only already (linked below).

Reapply Your Sunscreen

I am trusting that we all know the importance of applying SPF on a regular basis. However, I do not see enough beauty enthusiasts preaching the importance of reapplication! If you are spending time outdoors, it is crucial to layer on more sunscreen every two hours or so as it the blocking benefits can quickly wear off. If you are indoors, reapplication is not as imperative but always a benefit, nonetheless.

Don’t Skip The Drugstore

As much as I am an avid fan of the likes of Sephora and Nordstrom Beauty, there is no denying that the drugstore has become a beast of its own. There are so many incredible skincare and makeup products at your fingertips at your local pharmacy or Target. Plus, we all love the notion of saving money too! I have a blog post revealing my favorite drugstore products – check it out here!

Immediately Moisturize After Showering

The last of my beauty secrets that I wanted to highlight involves your post-shower routine. Not only should you treat your face with delicacy but your entire body! Shop fluffy, soft towels and gently pat dry your skin from-head-to-toe. Immediately follow up with a body moisturizer. Applying lotion as soon as you step out of the shower will help to lock in that healthy moisture, keeping your skin hydrated.

I hope you find these beauty secrets helpful! Let me know if you have any secrets I should adopt into my own routine.
