After a few hectic days running around NYFW, I hopped on a flight to Milan with my sister, Coco. Almost as soon as we touched down, we were swept up in yet another week of fashion mayhem. Once again, the agenda was filled to the brim with runway shows, presentations, and fittings. So much so, I was surprised I was able to grab a few hours of sleep at all. It was chaos but in the good way. Not to mention, the fashion shows were absolutely incredible and I was filled with inspiration that I will most definitely be channeling all throughout the rest of 2023. To commemorate the few days I had in one of the largest fashion capitals of the world, I wanted to recap my favorite parts of Milan Fashion Week FW23 for you here so you, too, can get inspired.
Milan Fashion Week FW23 Recap
Day 1
After making a mad dash from the airport to hotel, I immediately started getting ready for the long night ahead. All things Roberto Cavalli were on the agenda for my first day at MWF FW23. I wore an electric blue outfit from Cavalli – which was a nice contrast to the neutrals that I usually go for.
In terms of the Roberto Cavalli runway, all I can say is dark romance. Lace-adorned catsuits and dresses were strutting down the catwalk at rapid speed. I surmise that the barely-there trend will only continue to heat up this year so be prepared.

Day 2
Needless to say, day 2 proved to be more daunting than the last. With multiple shows on the schedule, I spent the day dashing back-and-forth to catch each one. The highlights were certainly Alberto Ferretti, Max Mara and Philosophy. I immediately noticed that Ferretti was very similar to Cavalli in terms of emphasis on dark colors and heavy lace.
Max Mara and Philosophy were heavily dependent on statement outerwear. Everything from fur to drapery will be omnipresent in this fall and winter’s layering devices.

Day 3
The highlight of day 3 at MWF FW23 was being able to get dressed by Sportmax. I opted for a soft pastel color palette complete with a seafoam green crop top and a white sweeping maxi skirt. When it came to the runway show, it was clear that Spotmax wanted to highlight tailoring in all shapes and forms. Unconventional blazers and high-waisted trousers were in abundance.
