Happy December, babes! Cannot believe we are down to the last stretch of 2021. I am still in denial but ready to embrace the full on hustle and bustle of the next few weeks ahead. I do not know about you, but I am still in the process of putting together my outfits for both Christmas and New Year’s Eve. My Christmas plans tend to lean a bit more relaxed and cozy, while I plan on getting more dressed up to celebrate the last night of 2021. Whatever the case, I put together 2 different looks for both occasions – one casual and one dressy so there is something for everyone! December can be so hectic but I really do hope this post helps you to easily find some chic outfits to wear for all your upcoming social gatherings. Discover holiday outfit inspiration below!
Holiday Outfit Inspiration: Christmas and New Year’s Eve
Casual Christmas Look
For low-key get togethers on Christmas Day with your family, there is no pressure to get overalls dressed up. As you know, I tend to prefer neutral colors and I think black and white outfits in particular never fail to look put together. A casual holiday outfit I wanted to suggest is a simple formula consisting of a sweater, pair of trousers, and a comfortable pair of boots. Wide leg pants are not only trendy but they are also comfortable enough to wear all day! The cozy knit and warm boots are the icing on the cake for an effortlessly stylish Christmas outfit. Dressy Holiday Outfit Inspiration
On the other hand, if you love the idea of getting all dressed up for Christmas Day, more power to you! Honestly, I always look for an excuse to get dolled up for any occasion. Alas, this is where a gorgeous midi or maxi dress comes into play! Luckily for us, there are an abundance of options to choose from these days. Opt for something bold and metallic to help lift your holiday spirits. Or perhaps you want something deep and rich in relevant colors like red or soft green. Whatever your preference, you know you are going to look fab on Christmas day.
Casual NYE Outfit
A little sequins goes a long way this NYE. I love how the return of the holiday season inevitably always means the resurgence of this metallic embellishment and I am not mad about it. The opulence and tasteful shine just seems to match well with the spirit of the season and it is just a fun look to play into for the holiday. If you seek a more casual New Year’s Eve outfit, might I suggest a fun sequined top paired with some basic denim or maybe some trousers. This way, you still look festive without having to get too dressed up.
Dressy NYE Party Look
We basically lost our New Year’s Eve celebration last year due to the pandemic so you might plan on going all out this year! Whether you have a fun house party planned with your close friends or plan on hitting up the club, there is a chance you might need a formal NYE look too. Honestly, my favorite destination for all things party is Revolve. There are endless pages of dresses to fit the occasion. One of my favorite looks this past year has definitely been the cut out and sheer trends. A little sophisticated show of skin is youthful, fun, and flattering.
