Lately, I’ve noticed a trend on TikTok where users share their list of high-maintenance beauty routines that allow them to be relatively low-maintenance the rest of the time. As someone who loves discovering new hacks to simplify my life, I was immediately locked in. It got me thinking about some of the high-maintenance beauty hacks that I personally swear by. While these little rituals may demand a bit of time upfront, the long-lasting results end up saving you time and effort in the future. From daily skincare to supplements and beyond, these high-maintenance beauty hacks just might be the solution your routine has been missing.

High-Maintenance Beauty Hacks to Be Low Maintenance

Double Cleansing

The double cleansing method has been gaining popularity on social media recently, but if you want to try it out, it’s crucial to learn the right technique. This evening routine starts with an oil cleanser. Instead of wetting your face, apply a pump of cleanser to your dry face and massage it in for at least one minute. This step effectively removes dirt and makeup from the day. After one minute, wet your hands and emulsify the product for at least 30 seconds. Then, rinse off the oil cleanser completely before proceeding with a secondary cleanser to further clean and purify your skin.

While double cleansing adds a few extra minutes to your nightly routine, the results are well worth it! This method allows you to effectively massage out sebaceous filaments, which is especially beneficial for those prone to clogged pores.

Dermaplaning

I’ve mentioned face shaving before, and it’s truly one of my favorite high-maintenance beauty hacks that I do every other week. By using a facial razor along with a serum or oil, you can gently remove the peach fuzz on your face. While this hair might not be very noticeable, its removal allows your skincare products to absorb better into your skin and ensures a smoother, flawless makeup application.
