Whether you opt to do New Year’s resolutions or not, one thing is for sure, we could all probably do with more self-care in our daily lives. As we get older, the days seemingly go by quicker and quicker, which means that things can often slip through our hands unintentionally – one of them being our own wellness. With the lingerings of the pandemic still causing anxiety, the stress of being inundated with online news, and the growing pressures of social media, it really is no wonder why we can often feel lost and overwhelmed. This is why I wanted to deliver a blog post that focuses on all things self-love. In light of the new year, we should all work to do more things that make ourselves happy because we all deserve it. From cozy clothes to books that life your spirits, here is everything you need to practice self-care this year.
Everything you Need to Practice Self-Care This Year
Cozy Loungewear
After the past 2 years or so, chances are you are probably spending more time at home than ever before. Home should be your safe space where you can be productive but also carve out time to rest and focus on yourself. Being in the comfort of your own home also means there is no one to impress so you can kick back, relax, and don your most comfortable clothes. Whether you are a cozy oversized sweatpants kind of person or prefer a coordinating set of pajamas, you should treat yourself to new loungewear to practice self-care this year.
Daily Beauty Routine
One of the ways that I like to show myself some love in my daily routine is to always take time to do my full skincare routine, both in the morning and at night. Taking the extra steps to apply everything from toner all the way to luxe serums fills me with joy and allows me to have some calming “me time” to start and end the day. To practice self-care, invest in some high-quality skincare and beauty products that work in-conjunction with your skin type.

Enrich Your Mind
In 2022, you can also vow to read more books that fulfill your soul and enrich your mind. There are countless of amazing, page-turning books that will help you to visualize what self-care looks and feels like. Plus, many act as amazing motivation to stay inspired and on track with your goals. There are even interaction options such as the True You: A Self-Discovery Journal of Prompts and Exercises to Inspire Reflection and Growth. In addition, get your to-dos organized with planners to better manage your schedule.
Get Active
One of the best things you can do for yourself in 2022 to practice self-love is to get your body moving. Trust me, I totally get that sometimes it truly feels like there are not enough hours in the day and with work consuming most of them, it can be really difficult to make time for a workout. But once you realize that you can cut back on a little time spent watching TV or scrolling through Instagram, a quick session (even 15-30 minutes is okay) to get your blood pumping will be so rewarding in the long run. Your body and mind will thank you and you will be enveloped with a feeling of accomplishment. Shop activewear and workout gear to get you motivated to start your fitness journey.
Balanced Diet
To round out my pledge to practice self-care in 2022, I want to talk balanced diet. I know there is a lot of negative connotation towards the word, diet, but I want to highlight the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Rather than a ephemeral diet that unrealistically cuts off all sugar or carbs, enact a more conscious lifestyle by choosing to eat more Whole Foods on a regular basis indefinitely. Do not forget to take the correct supplements too! Multivitamins are a great way to ensure you are getting your daily intake of nutrients. Of course, consult with your doctor as you see fit.
