From exploring the latte girl makeup trend to embracing the no-makeup makeup look, I have been having a lot of fun experimenting with different aesthetics. This time around, I dug out some of my favorite drugstore makeup products to create a more captivating look. My focus centered on accentuating my eyes with a dramatic cat-eye liner, adding a touch of allure to my usual makeup routine. Although this may be a lot for everyday wear, it’s perfect for a night out on town. From girls night to a romantic dinner date, consider this cat eye your new go-to for a bold look that’s sure to ring in compliments. For ease of shopping, all products linked below can be found at Target and are all less than $20!
All You Need is Drugstore Makeup to Create This Dramatic Cat Eye

1) Start with a Radiant Base
Any good makeup look starts with a radiant base. After completing my usual skincare routine, apply a light layer of primer. For a flawless finish, I suggest the Illuminance Skin-Caring Foundation. The formula leaves you with a lasting, youthful glow. If needed, spot treat and conceal under the eyes with a concealer.
2) Fluffy Brows
For the ultimate fluffy brows, I am using Revlon’s dual-ended brow pencil in the shade dark brown. Start with the brush to tame your eyebrow hairs, while also ensuring each one is in place. With the other end of the product, fill in with feather-light strokes. The goal is to ensure your brows look as natural as possible. I am a huge fan of this particular pencil because it’s waterproof, which helps to ensure your brows look good all night long.
3) Cat Eye Magic
Now, it’s time for the fun part! The key to nailing the perfect sharp cat eye look is an eyeliner that has a really precise tip. The ColorStay liquid eyeliner ensures even beginners can create a flawless wing. Steady your hand and line the top lid while focusing on extending that line in the outer corner. Once the tail is to your liking, I go ahead and apply the same to the inner corner. Adding this extra step makes for that dramatic eye makeup that we’re going for. From there, finish up this step by tight-lining the bottom line.
4) Lengthy Lashes
Before applying mascara, it’s important to prep your eyelashes by curling them for a little lift. Once your lashes are curled, it’s time to apply a generous coat (or several coats depending on how dramatic you want your lashs) of your favorite drugstore makeup mascara. A personal favorite is the Essence Lash Princess mascara. For under $5, I am thoroughly impressed with each use.
5) Pink Pout
To create the perfect mauve pink pout, I layered two shades of the Revlon ColorStay Suede Ink Lipstick. I used Gut Instinct followed by That Girl for a more dimensional effect. Of course, you can leave as is for a matte look or you can choose to go in with a high-shine lip gloss.
